Lobstermen's Union Holds First Meeting!!!

After months of organizing meetings in communities up and down the coast, the members of the members of Maine's newest union, the Maine Lobstering Union (IMLU 207) held their first official meeting in Bangor last week.

Nearly 150 lobstermen attended the meeting Sunday in Bangor to officially launch their union. They came from Machias and Jonesport, from Stonington and Boothbay, and from islands like Vinalhaven to pay dues, elect officers, and begin the process of writing bylaws.

Congratulations to the newly elected officers of IMLU 207- President Rock Alley , Vice President Chris Radley, Recording Secretary Mark Brewer, Secretary Treasurer Julie Eaton, Conductor Sentinel James Knowlton , and Trustees Yvonne Rosen, Spencer Dyer, and Richard Alley.
